Coaches Corner: K-2
Attention Parents of K-2 Boys and Girls!
Chatham Sports has put together a great deal for lacrosse equipment for
all participants in the Chatham Recreation Lacrosse Program.
Time has been spent with Terry McCabe of Chatham Sports to make sure the
right equipment is available.
For girls in K-2,
Chatham Sports has the perfect starter stick. Chatham Sport will
measure your daughter and cut the stick down to the right size.
For boys, K-1,
Chatham Sports has a great starter stick called the Brine RECRUIT.
It has a perfect oversized head that is great for young lacrosse players
to learn how to catch and throw with. It is well priced.
Please make sure you buy this stick or an equivalent, please avoid the
lacrosse beach sticks.
For Second Grade Boys,
this is your first year of needing equipment. Chatham Sports has
put together a great package deal. In order to make sure your son
has the right sized equipment, we ask that you go down to Chatham Sports
by March 1st and order your equipment package. One single group
order will be done. Terry McCabe will have an order form for you.
The package includes:

Brine King Junior Pad Pack
- This is gloves, shoulder and arm pads. This needs to be fitted.
Err on the size of a tad big as the equipment should last you a few
years.

Cascade Adjustable Youth Helmet
- This Helmet should last you a number of years. It is the Cougar
Lacrosse Club's Policy the all children should not use second hand
helmets. This adjustable helmet should last you a number of years.
It is the policy of USA Lacrosse that if you do use a second hand
helmet, even if it is within the same family, if an injury occurs,
your US Lacrosse insurance coverage is null and void. With the rise
in concussions in sports, we urge you to be extremely careful when
it comes to helmet's and ask you to adhere to the Recreation and US
Lacrosse policy.

The all in cost for this is $200. This is a very fair deal. Other
stores, websites and group equipment sales were investigated by lax
coaches and this is the best price we found. Please note you do
not have to buy the complete package.
Chatham Sport will also have Cougar Stickers available for your helmet.
